FAQ
What GPA scale does this calculator use?

This calculator uses the standard 4.0 scale, which is the most widely used grading system in the United States and many other countries. A grade of A corresponds to 4.0 points, while an F is 0.0. Intermediate grades such as A- (3.7), B+ (3.3), B (3.0), and so on are also supported.

How is the weighted GPA calculated?

Each course grade is multiplied by its credit hours to produce grade points. The weighted GPA is then calculated by dividing the total grade points by the total credit hours. This means courses with more credits have a proportionally larger impact on the final GPA.

What letter grade corresponds to what GPA points?

On the 4.0 scale: A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B- = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C- = 1.7, D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0, F = 0.0. Note that some institutions use slightly different mappings, so always check your school's grading policy.
